Mara Sánchez Llorens, PhD., is Assistant Professor at the Graphic Ideation Department at the Polytechnic University at Madrid, Design Studio Department at Pontifical University as well as the Art Department at the Nebrija University. Mara Sánchez Llorens develops her professional architectural practice combining research, writing, and teaching.

My life and professional career is a part of a “trip with many stops”, reflecting on those other things that Octavio Paz used to speak about.

Latin America expert. She cooperates with AECI in Spain, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, where she lives between 1996 and 2014. Since 2010 she has also given many talks in national and foreign universities and institutions, as well as delivered papers in congresses about Women in Architecture to explore ideas about Women in practice in Architecture and Art. Her celebrated PhD on the work of Lina Bo Bardi “Objects and Collective Actions of Lina Bo Bardi” (Summa Cum Laude, UPM Madrid, 2010) was awarded in 2011 and has recently published by The Nobuko Publishing House, awarded by the Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism, São Paulo, 2016.

Mara Sánchez Llorens, es profesora asociada del Departamento de Ideación Gráfica de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, así como del Departamento de Arte en la Universidad Nebrija.

Mi trayectoria profesional forma parte de un viaje con muchas paradas, reflexionando sobre aquellas otredades de las que hablaba Octavio Paz. Combino la práctica profesional arquitectónica con la investigación; escribiendo e impartiendo docencia.

Experta latinoamericanista. Coopera con la AECID en España, Argentina, Brasil y México, países en los que he residido entre 1996 y 2014. Desde 2010 he impartido conferencias en universidades e instituciones nacionales y extranjeras; y ha participado en numerosos congresos sobre «Arquitectura y género» explorando ideas de mujeres en la práctica en la arquitectura y el arte.

Mi tesis doctoral sobre el trabajo de Lina Bo Bardi ” Objetos y Acciones Colectivas de Lina Bo Bardi ” (Sobresaliente Cum laude, UPM Madrid, 2010) fue premiada en 2011 y recientemente publicada por Nobuko Publishing House, galardonada por la Bienal Iberoamericana de Arquitectura y Urbanismo, São Paulo, 2016.
